Decimal field of "0" being treated as null value in database

The problem occurs using a decimal field. I have a datagridview bound to a sql table.

When I enter the decimal value and save it, it's ok. But when I enter 0 without the decimal point I receive a DBnull error.

If I enter 0.00 it is ok, only if I enter 0 alone it will result in an error.
